Trial Stays at the boarding kennels
Trial stays can be very beneficial for dogs that are nervous, new to boarding kennels or have been rescued. We suggest trying our daycare services or a 2 night’s stay during a quiet time of the year so we have extra time to introduce your dog to our routine and to get to know their personality.
At the end of this trial stay, we will have a good idea whether your dog will be happy to board with us while you are away. If the outcome is positive, the next time your dog comes to stay it will be easier for all concerned.
However, there are a few dogs that do not adapt well to boarding and if we feel this is the case with your dog; we will be honest about it, as we don’t want unhappy guests or clients.
Whilst we prefer our guests to arrive in our afternoon session and depart in the morning session you can arrive in the morning and leave in the afternoon if you wish, you will however be charged for the night before and after if you choose this option
Our card system
For those of our furry friends who may struggle with the kennel environment, we have a card system in place which allows staff members to identify how best to handle your dog safely while they stay with us. There are different levels of our card system and this will be determined by a free assessment on your dog.
We highly recommend that if you feel this system may apply to your pooch, to book them in for shorter trial sessions or day boarding sessions beforehand to desensitise them and familiarise them with the kennel environment and our staff members. Card systems may also be put in place during the stay should we feel it applies to your dog as some of our furry friends may struggle with the new environment, scents and sounds and act differently than they do at home. If this is the case, you will be notified as soon as we have made a decision on the level that best suits your dog.
For more information about this card system and the different levels, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Important Information
You MUST bring proof of your dog’s yearly vaccinations, specifically covering Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvo. The kennel cough vaccination is recommended, not required as it won’t prevent your dog catching it. Please note, if your furry friend has had the KC vaccination, we won’t be able to see them for 2 weeks afterwards as it is a live vaccination. Rabies vaccination isn’t something we require unless travelling from overseas.
If your four legged buddy seems too stressed out in our care, we will not hesitate to contact you to find an alternative. This is why we recommend trials prior to a longer stay!
We are happy to socialise your doggo’s with others during their stay however, we do not do this without permission. It is also down to our discretion whether we socialise them depending on their temperament at the kennels as dogs will behave differently in other environments and away from you.
Please make sure you read the terms and conditions. We also politely ask you adhere to our drop off, collection and opening hour.
